The Adirondack Scenic Railroad

The Adirondack Scenic Railroad is a tourist line that runs from Utica, NYto Thendara (Old Forge), NY.  There are other runs between Utica and Lake Placid including Big Moose.  The Adirondack Scenic runson the former tracks of the Mohawk And Malone and the New York Central's Adirondack Line.  After Penn Central's abandonment, theline sat in limbo until becoming the Adirondack Railroad running trips between Utica and the 1980 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid.  TheScenic operation came in the early 1990's and flourishes today...
